The restaurant called 'Russkaya Izba' is a cozy restaurant designed in the spirit of a peasant hut. The main elements of the interior are items of peasant life collected in the villages of the former Kineshma county.

It is located in the historical building of the Kineshma 'tea of sobriety', a monument of history and architecture of the late XIX century. The building, 'grown' in a steep bank on the Volga Boulevard, is already a landmark of Kineshma itself, which is evidenced in famous films: 'Chinese Tea-Set', 'The Ulyanov Family', 'Yakov Sverdlov'.

The restaurant is really popular with locals, so it is often full of visitors. Guests mark the good service and attractive pricing, and especially pay heed to the impressive interior.

It is here where you can try a deep-fried pie prepared according to a unique pre-revolutionary recipe. At one time, the pie 'Kineshemskiy' was known all around Russia. Now it is prepared in Kineshma only.

The restaurant's menu includes about 300 dishes. A significant part of the dishes of Russian national cuisine, prepared according to old Russian recipes: pork 'a la petite bourgeois', tsar-style meat, liver stroganoff, battered pike perch, mushrooms for the tsar's table, bull's eggs, calves' brains, mussels fried in wine-sour cream sauce and many other things.
