The Golikov House-Museum
Museum
Palekh, Lenina street, 2
The original simple decor was preserved in the house-museum of this outstanding artist. In this environment he created works of art that were highly recognized at world-famous exhibitions. There you can find out why the artist needed a glass globe and a wolf's fang. You can take a look at all the stages of the process of creation of the lacquer miniature, starting with cardboard and egg yolks, all the way to the finished piece of art.

By painting the first papier-mâché box in 1921 Ivan Golikov started a new artistic movement in Palekh. This is why part of the exposition is devoted to the history of the Artel of Ancient Painting, which made the small village world famous.
