The Levitan House Museum

The image of Plyos is inseparable from Levitan's creations and vice versa. The master of "mood landscape" created more than 200 paintings in Plyos and you can see some of them in his house museum. Besides Levitan's creations there are paintings by his friends and talented artists Sofia Kuvshinnikova and Alexei Stepanov, a short Levitan's biography illustrated with photos and reproductions.
The interiors of the end of the nineteenth century are recreated in memorial rooms. In 1889 and 1889 the three artists lived and worked in these rooms. You can see there many of their belongings: Kuvshinnikova's single tea set, Stepanov's sketchbook and Levitan's easel with paint on it.
